Divya Dev Pant is a distinguished Nepali actor, theatre artist, and voice performer originally from Baitadi, Nepal. He began his acting career in 2010 with One World Theatre, debuting in Angels in America, and has since performed in over 25 plays in both English and Nepali. His stage credits include Hamlet, Golden Boy, True West, and Sandaju Ko Mahabharat, often under the direction of Dr. Deborah Merola. In film, Divya Dev has played lead roles in Chiso Ashtray, Rudane, and Hijo Aaja Kaa Kura, and appeared in supporting roles in The Secret of Radha, Kiya, and Looking for a Lady with Fangs and a Moustache. He has also acted in dozens of short films and music videos. He is widely recognized as the host of The Poet Idol, Nepal’s first poetry reality show, and the narrator of The Voice of Nepal, where his commanding voice and theatrical delivery have become iconic. Divya Dev’s work bridges classical theatre, contemporary cinema, and poetic storytelling, making him one of Nepal’s most versatile and respected performers.

Anita Basnet, popularly known as Masterni, is a dynamic and versatile figure in Nepali entertainment, originally from Okhaldhunga. She has made a lasting impact as a writer, director, and comedic actress, especially in the realm of social serials and comedy shows. She is the writer and director of two acclaimed Nepali social serials: Saino – A heartfelt drama exploring family ties, trust, and emotional conflict. The series has gained popularity for its relatable storytelling and strong performances. Mitini – Another socially conscious serial that delves into the complexities of friendship and women’s experiences in Nepali society. In addition to her work behind the camera, Anita Basnet has showcased her comedic talent in several beloved Nepali comedy shows: Meri Bassai – Where she gained widespread recognition as “Masterni,” a character that resonated with audiences for her wit and charm. Hami Yastai Ho Bro – A web series that blends humor with social commentary. Harke Haldar and Halka Ramailo – Popular comedy shows where her performances added depth and laughter to everyday Nepali life. Gopal Bhutani (born Gopal Tamang, 1932 – November 23, 2010) was a pioneering Nepali art director, actor, and action choreographer who shaped the visual language of Nepali cinema. Born in Fikkal, Ilam, he began his film journey in Bollywood in the 1940s before returning to Nepal, where he introduced action direction to a melodrama-dominated industry. Despite his immense contributions, he struggled to obtain Nepali citizenship due to the “Bhutani” surname. Bhutani worked on over 70 films, including Balidaan, Aago, Shankar, Mamaghar, Shiris Ko Phool, and Jeevan Sangharsha. He passed away at age 78 from stomach cancer. His legacy remains foundational in Nepali film aesthetics and action choreography.

Bhim Bahadur Thapa was a celebrated Nepali film actor known for his versatility, physical agility, and long-standing contribution to Nepali cinema. Active across several decades, he appeared in nearly 100 films and popular television serials, including Tito Satya. Thapa acted in notable films such as Basai (2005), Aama (1996), Tuhuro (1994), Arpan (1993), and Goreto (2002), earning recognition for his expressive performances and strong screen presence. Before entering cinema, he served in the British Army and even participated in World War II. Fondly known as “Nepali Tarzan,” “Nepali Babu,” and “Dancer,” he remained admired for his unique persona and dance skills. Thapa passed away on 13 June 2018 at the age of 92, leaving behind a memorable legacy in Nepali entertainment.
