Melwa Devi Gurung

Melwa Devi Gurung, also known as Melawa Devi, holds the distinction of being Nepal's first female recording artist. Born in 1954 B.S. (circa 1897) in Rumjatar, Okhaldhunga District, Nepal, she emerged as a pioneering figure in the nation's musical landscape. In 1928, Melwa Devi traveled to Calcutta (now Kolkata), British India, to record her songs, marking a significant milestone in Nepali music history. Among her notable recordings are "Na Gharlai Ghar Kahincha Nari Nai Durbar Ho" and "Sawari Mero Relaima," which resonated with many listeners and showcased her exceptional talent. Her musical prowess garnered the attention of Chandra Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana, the Prime Minister of Nepal at the time, under whose patronage she performed. Melwa Devi's contributions not only paved the way for future generations of female artists but also enriched Nepal's cultural heritage.​ In recognition of her impact, Nepal issued a commemorative postage stamp in her honor in 2013, celebrating her legacy as an eminent singer.

Dibya Subba has spent five years in the Nepali music industry, releasing two albums, Pratha and Pariwartan. While he initially collaborated with arrangers, he always dreamed of working with a band. That dream has now come true with The BlueAcidz, a group he admired for years. His third album, DibyaSubba N' The BlueAcidz, marks a fresh chapter in his journey. With nine experimental tracks, the album explores themes beyond love and tragedy—delving into nature, mountains, and the spirit of Nepal. The creative process was organic, built in jam sessions where band members crafted melodies and lyrics together. Reflecting on his growth, Dibya embraces change and evolution, both in life and music. Pabitra Acharya

Pavitra Acharya is a Nepali actress, choreographer, and casting director known for her versatile presence across film and music videos. She made her silver‑screen debut with Vijaypath (2012), sharing the frame with Nikhil Upreti, Sushil Kshetri, and Sanchita Luitel. She later appeared opposite Rajesh Hamal in Rajniti and featured in Aaveg alongside Aryan Sigdel. Trained in dance from a young age, Acharya expanded her creative path into choreography, beginning with Komal Oli’s Teej song and later crafting dance sequences for dozens of music videos and films including Commander and Mela. Having worked with leading stars such as Karishma Manandhar, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Aanchal Sharma, Salon Basnet, and others, she now also contributes as a casting director, currently serving as the Central Co‑Treasurer of the Nepal Film Artists Association and working on the film Kashyap.
