Natikaji, (Amrit Lal Shrestha) born in dec 25 1925 in Lalitpur, Nepal, is revered as one of the most influential music directors in Nepali history. A prodigy from a musical Newar family, he began playing harmonium at age seven and later joined Radio Nepal in 1950, where he composed over 2000 songs across genres. His works include timeless classics like Marna Baru Garho Hunna, Nepali Hami, and Phoolko Thunga Bagera Gayo. He also directed music for more than 15 operas and several Nepali films, including Man Ko Bandh and Sindoor. Known for blending classical depth with emotional resonance, Natikaji earned prestigious honors such as the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu and Chinnalata Geet Puraskar. His melodies continue to shape Nepal’s musical identity, making him a cultural icon. He passed away in nov 22003, leaving behind a legacy that still echoes in the hearts of Nepali music lovers.

Rekha Shah is a celebrated figure in the Nepali music scene, known for her soulful voice, lyrical depth, and dedication to using music as a medium for social transformation. Born in Dhading, she stood out early in life with a calm but determined personality. Her musical journey began at the age of 14 when she won Radio Nepal’s folk song competition with Simsime Panima, a song she had written herself. The track became an iconic classic in Nepali folk music and remains beloved to this day. Musical Training & Style Despite facing serious heart-related health challenges, Rekha pursued her artistic ambitions with resilience. She received classical training from Nepali music legends Late Ram Thapa and Gurudev Kamat, which helped shape her rich, versatile singing style. Her sound blends traditional folk elements with classical discipline and modern influences. Her latest album, The Line, features a fusion of Eastern, Western, and folk genres, arranged by prominent musicians like Phadendra Rai, Maha Raj Thapa, and Norvu Sherpa. The accompanying music videos were directed by notable industry professionals such as Bhusan Dahal, Alok Nemang, and Suraj Singh Thakuri.

Sanjaya Shrestha is a Nepali singer and musician. He founded the pop music band Crossroads in 1992, which blended western-style singing with traditional Nepali instrumental music. Some of his popular songs include the hit “Maya Meri Maya” (Nepali: माया मेरी माया) . Sanjaya Shrestha has left a lasting impact on Nepali music lovers, and his song “Maya Meri Maya” remains immortal in the hearts of many .

Dhrubesh Chandra Regmi is a celebrated sitar maestro, scholar, and academician from Nepal, known for his profound contributions to classical music and musicology. Born into the illustrious Regmi musical lineage, he is the great-grandson of Pt. Dev Chandra Regmi, who pioneered the sitar tradition in Nepal. Trained under his father, Prof. Satish Chandra Regmi, Dhrubesh began playing sitar at the age of eight and gave his first concert by thirteen. He holds a Ph.D. in Music from Delhi University—the first Nepali musician to do so—with a dissertation on the history of music during the Rana period. He also completed a postdoctoral Fulbright fellowship at the City University of New York on “Music for Peace and Harmony.” A founding member of the acclaimed ensemble Sukarma, Dhrubesh has performed globally and currently serves as a Professor at Padma Kanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University. His legacy bridges tradition, scholarship, and performance.
