Bijay Shivakotee

Dinesh Adhikari (दिनेश अधिकारी) is a distinguished Nepali poet and lyricist, born on December 7, 1959, in Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal. His literary journey began in 1976, and since then, he has made significant contributions to Nepali literature and music. Adhikari has authored 12 books and released 14 audio albums, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the arts. His poetry collection "Atirikta Abhilekh" earned him the prestigious Madan Puraskar in 1999 (2056 B.S.), highlighting his profound impact on Nepali literature. Additionally, his work "Indrajatra" received the Sajha Puraskar in 1994 (2051 B.S.). As a lyricist, Adhikari has penned around 500 songs, collaborating with renowned Nepali musicians. Some of his popular songs include: "Yo Samjhine Mann Cha"​ "Soche Jasto Hunna Jeevan"​ "Timi Yasai Lajayau"​ "Timi Jun Rahar Le"​ "Pani Pani Vayo Mann"​ These songs have resonated with audiences, reflecting his deep understanding of human emotions and societal themes.

Dr. Krishnahari Baral is a distinguished Nepali lyricist, songwriter, poet, literary critic, and author. He was born on January 4, 1954, and is a professor of Nepali at the Central Department of Nepali, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. Dr. Baral has written more than forty books, including course books, literary criticisms, and collections of lyric poetry. Dr. Baral's contributions to Nepali literature and music are significant, and he is well-respected in his field. His works often reflect deep cultural and social themes, and he has been recognized for his lyrical poetry and literary achievements.

Ratna Shumsher Thapa (1939–2020) was a distinguished Nepali poet and lyricist, renowned for his significant contributions to Nepali music and literature. Born on July 31, 1939, in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, he began his poetic journey in 1951. Over his prolific career, Thapa penned numerous timeless songs that have become integral to Nepali culture. Notable Works: "Aankhako Bhaka Ankhaile" "Swargaki Rani" "Kunjama Gunjiyo" "Bho Bho Nasodha" "Madhumas Yo Dilko" "Ye Kanchha Thattaima" "Bichodko Pida" "Sero Fero Mero" "Ghumtima Naau Hai" "Jaga Lamka Chamka Hai Naujawan Ho" His lyrics often explored themes of love, separation, and human emotions, resonating deeply with audiences. One of his most celebrated collaborations was with the legendary singer Narayan Gopal on the song "Swargaki Rani," which remains a classic in Nepali music. Awards and Recognition: Thapa's literary excellence earned him several prestigious awards, including the Jagadamba Shree Puraskar and the Bhupi Poetry Award. Passing: Ratna Shumsher Thapa passed away on May 28, 2020, at the age of 80, due to pneumonia. His demise marked the end of an era in Nepali literature and music, but his legacy continues to inspire artists and music lovers.

Rajendra Shalabh (also credited as Rajendra Salav) is a veteran Nepali filmmaker and lyricist whose career spans cinema, literature, media, and cultural programming. Active since 1990, he has directed notable Nepali films such as Bijaya Parajaya (1990), Bhauju (1993), and Paribhasha (1994), and contributed as a lyricist and writer across multiple projects.Beyond cinema, Shalabh is recognized as a poet, cultural organizer, and media professional. He has been involved in poetry recitation programs, literary events, and audiovisual poetry projects featuring major Nepali poets. His multidisciplinary work extends into television production, education, and entertainment management, including serving as Executive Director of CG Entertainment and working as a Law Associate at Tribhuvan University.
