Suman Kumar Shrestha

Mandabi Tripathi, born on July 13, 1982, in Sundarbazar, Lamjung District, Nepal, is a renowned Nepali singer celebrated for her contributions to the country's music industry. She completed her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) in 1997 and pursued further studies in music, earning an Intermediate in Fine Arts (I.F.A) from Tribhuvan University in 2000. Throughout her career, Mandabi has released numerous songs that have resonated with audiences. Originally from Darjeeling, she rose to fame with her soulful performance of “Bhaisi Ladyo Hai Maya Bhirbata Hera”, a song that became an instant classic after airing on Radio Nepal. Her repertoire spans heartfelt ballads like “Euta Khulla Kitab”, “Bhikhari Hoon Ma”, and “Bandhan Ra Badhyatama”, many of which were featured in the beloved Paleti music series. She often collaborated with her husband, composer Chandan Lamjel, and their daughter Vimochana Lamjel has followed in her footsteps as a singer. Buddhi Bahadur Pariyar was a gifted Nepali folk composer whose song “Resham Firiri” became a cultural anthem. Born in Pokhara, Pariyar grew up immersed in the rhythms of village life. In 1972, he composed “Resham Firiri Resham Firiri”, inspired by the hills and daily joys of Nepali people. The song was recorded in 1974 by Sunder Shrestha and Dwarika Lal Joshi, and quickly gained national fame. Its catchy tune and relatable lyrics made it a favorite among street performers, travelers, and diaspora communities. Despite its popularity, Pariyar remained largely uncredited, highlighting the struggles of folk creators in Nepal’s music industry. His work reflects the soul of Nepali folk traditions—simple, melodic, and deeply rooted in lived experience. “Resham Firiri” continues to echo across generations, symbolizing the enduring charm of Nepal’s musical heritage.

Aagantuk Kharel was born on 14th December in Shankhuwasabha, Nepal, as the youngest daughter of Krishna Prasad Kharel and Jeevan Kumari Kharel. She has one brother and four sisters. Growing up, Aagantuk was mischievous and loved singing and dancing, often participating in school programs. She completed her education in Amradas School, Kanya School, and Dharan Secondary School before moving to Kathmandu to finish her +2 at Nobel Academy and B.A. from Pashupati Campus. Aagantuk decided to pursue music after completing her S.L.C., joining Dorieme for 5 years and learning from Guru Dev Kamant, Bhanu Bhakta, and Bijay Singh Munal. In 2002, she recorded her first song "Tipera Fakyau Phul Ko Thunga," and in 2006, she released her debut album "Ban Ma Fulyo Ful," followed by her second album "Bayer Botai Ma" in 2009. She is currently working on her third album, "Aachal Ko Agaman," dedicated to her daughter Aachal. Beyond music, Aagantuk enjoys spending time with her daughter, practicing vocals, and writing songs. She loves traveling with her family and values honesty and generosity.
