Purano Dunga

The story centers on two Bhujel brothers living near Begnas Lake in Pokhara:Bhakta Bahadur (Maotse Gurung), the older brother, is a quiet, hardworking fisherman who supports his entire family by rowing passengers across the lake in their old wooden boat (purano dunga).Batashe (Dayahang Rai), the younger brother, lives an aimless life, spending his time chasing women in Pokhara's urban dohori bars. He falls for a popular local singer named Chandra (Priyanka Karki) and becomes desperate to impress her.Desperate for money and status, Batashe demands a property division from Bhakta. Since the family's only major asset is the boat, Batashe takes sole ownership of it.Deprived of his only source of income, Bhakta's life falls into poverty, straining his marriage with Manamaya (Menuka Pradhan). Meanwhile, Batashe's reckless behavior fails to deliver the easy life he imagined, putting him in conflict with local business owners and forcing both brothers to confront what truly holds a family together.
