Born on January 5, 1986, in Ramuwa, Baglung, she has become a household name through decades of dedication to Nepali folk culture. Her musical journey began in the early 2000s, and she rose to prominence through duets with her husband and frequent collaborator, Raju Dhakal. Together, they’ve delivered countless hits, including “Oralima Bar”, “Dui Mutuko Bandhan”, and “Takine Aaina”. Her discography also features beloved songs like “Banki Chari” with Arjun Sapkota, “Lauri Harayo” with Pashupati Sharma, and “Rudai Fulyo Makhmali” with Badri Pangeni. Devi has received numerous accolades, including the Music Khabar Music Award, Teej Music Award, and Kalika Music Award, recognizing her as one of the best female folk singers in Nepal. She was also elected as a central member of the Lok Dohori Pratisthan in 2019, affirming her leadership in the folk music community. Her recent releases like “Saili Salala” and “Kholi Salala Jhaliko Jhalala” continue to resonate with audiences, blending heartfelt lyrics with traditional melodies.

Shweta Punjali, a talented Nepali musician, gained recognition for her debut album “Udaan”. Several songs from this album received nominations at various national music awards. Notably, she won the Best New Talent award at the 2016 Nepali Music Video Awards and was also a nominee for Best Newcomer at the 2015 Tuborg Image Music Awards. She rose to fame through her standout performances on ZEE TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, earning her the title of a SAREGAMAPA (Fame) artist. She is the founder of KARMA MUSIC ACADEMY, where she mentors aspiring vocalists and nurtures young talent with a blend of classical discipline and contemporary flair. In 2025, Karmaa Sherpa was honored as a Grand Jury Member on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil' Champs Nepal Season 2, where she helped guide and uplift the next generation of Nepali musical stars. Her presence on the jury panel brought both warmth and expertise to the beloved kids’ singing reality show.
