Rajan Thakuri

Kulendra Bishwakarma is a celebrated Nepali folk and dohori singer from Parbat, known for his powerful vocal style and prolific contribution to modern lok‑geet. Born in 1985, he began his musical career in 2061 BS with Ke Chha Halchal, followed by the breakthrough song “Pashchim Purbako.” He has recorded over 2,000 songs, including major hits like “Salko Patko Tapari,” “Rumal Halai Halai,” “Dadai Phurke Sallo,” “Jimbal Ko Aganima,” “Ma Ni Ustai,” and “Phool Hau Timi.” Bishwakarma has earned top honors such as the Prabal Janasewashree and multiple National Music Awards, and has served as a judge on Nepal Lok Star and Dohori Icon.

Tulasi Parajuli was born on June 23, 1972, in Dadha Bazaar, Dhankuta, Nepal, to Makar Nanda Parajuli and Tika Devi Parajuli. As the eldest son, he spent his childhood in Dhankuta, where his mischievous nature often led him to skip classes in favor of attending cultural programs. His academic journey took him from Bhanu Secondary School for his SLC, to Dharan for his Intermediate certificates, and finally to Patan Campus, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nepali at R R College, Kathmandu. Entry into the Music Scene Parajuli’s passion for music was ignited by listening to songs on Radio Nepal, inspiring him to emulate the singers he admired. His enthusiasm for cultural events grew stronger when he moved to Dharan for further studies, leading him to participate more actively in musical programs. He eventually formed the band Jhankar, performing across major towns in Eastern Nepal. Work and Contributions Parajuli continues to be an influential figure in Nepali folk music. In 2024, he released a new song, "Musukkai Hasi", which has been well received. He also performed a solo evening featuring over a dozen songs in support of cancer and kidney patients, blending music with philanthropy. Beyond Music Apart from his musical career, Parajuli is dedicated to education. He serves as a Nepali teacher at Nobel Academy and teaches music at Nobel, Preston, and Annapurna College. He also manages Sangeet Sadhana Private Limited, a music school he founded to foster a strong learning environment for aspiring musicians. Additionally, he has been involved in hosting 'Lok Bhaka', a program for a UK-based Nepali television channel. Tulasi Parajuli remains a respected name in Nepali music, continuously evolving while staying true to his folk roots. His journey is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of music to inspire and uplift.

Jalu Gurung is a Nepali singer and dancer known for her contributions to Nepali folk music and stage performances. Through her involvement in cultural programs, folk music recordings, and live stage shows, she established herself as a versatile performer who skillfully combined singing and dancing.She has been associated with the Nepal Purba Prahari Kalakar Sangh (Nepal Ex-Police Artists Association), contributing to various cultural and musical activities organized by the institution. Over the years, she has performed numerous folk and traditional songs, some of which are available on digital platforms including YouTube, helping preserve and promote Nepal's rich musical heritage.

Pandav Sunuwar (पाण्डव सुनुवार) was a celebrated Nepali folk singer and pioneering Radio Nepal RJ, admired for his soulful voice, natural humor, and radio programs that transformed Nepal’s broadcasting culture. Born on 2009 BS Poush 9 in Ragani, Okhaldhunga, he rose from the eastern hills to become one of Nepal’s most beloved musical voices.He entered the music field around 2030 BS with the song “Sapanabhari Hansirahunshu”, and went on to record dozens of evergreen folk hits including “Ainseluko Paat,” “Sakyo Nani,” “Shahrai Jaula Ni,” “Bhijyo Timro Rato Pachhyauri,” “Babari Phoolko Bot,” and many more that remain cultural staples across generations.His duet partnership with Vasudev Munal produced nearly five dozen songs, making them one of the most iconic duos in Nepali folk music history.As a Radio Nepal RJ, Pandab Sunuwar became a household name through programs like Phone‑In, Chautari, Jharna ra Jhankar, Sungabha, Indreni, and others. He is widely credited with introducing Nepal’s first Phone‑In program, a format later adopted by FM and TV stations nationwide. His warm, witty, and emotionally resonant voice made him a national favorite.He authored the book “Aaroh‑Avaroh”, documenting the evolution of Radio Nepal and Nepali broadcasting.Pandab Sunuwar passed away on 2063 BS Asoj 21 at King’s College Hospital, London, while undergoing treatment for liver cirrhosis. His artistic legacy continues through his children, including his son Simosh Sunuwar, a well‑known music video and advertising film director active in Nepal’s contemporary visual and commercial media industry.
