Gagan Birahi was a prominent Nepali film producer, director, writer, and lyricist, known for his versatile contributions to Nepali cinema and literature. Active from the early 1990s, he worked across filmmaking, screenwriting, and songwriting, earning recognition as a multi‑talented creative figure in the industry.He made his film debut with Sankalp (1993), followed by contributions to several notable films including Miteri Gaun and Badal. As a lyricist, he wrote songs for films such as Bhauju and Truck Driver, showcasing his poetic depth and narrative sensitivity.Gagan Birahi directed Miteri Gaun, the first Nepali feature film fully shot in Japan, marking a milestone in Nepali cinema’s international production history. Alongside filmmaking, he remained active in literature, writing poems, stories, and lyrics throughout his career.His final published work was the poetry collection “Hastakshar”, which he released from his hospital bed, demonstrating his lifelong dedication to writing even during his final days.Gagan Birahi passed away in October 2018 at the age of 61, leaving behind a respected legacy in both Nepali cinema and literature.

Born in Madi, Rambeni Sankhuwasava on July 29, 1966, Yogendra Mani Dahal discovered his love for music early on. Since 2001, he has been writing lyrics, releasing albums like Akshyar (2004), Players (2006), So Far (2008), and Yatra (2009), with his latest work, Smriti, on the way. Influenced by legendary lyricists Ratna Shamser Thapa, Kali Prasad Rijal, and Dinesh Adhikari, his journey started with Deepesh Kishor Bhattarai’s album FOREVER, where his first lyrics were featured. He remains deeply thankful to Deep Shrestha, Raju Singh, Deepesh Kishor Bhattarai, Sanjeev Singh, and Saroj Dutta for their unwavering support. For Yogendra, music isn’t just entertainment—it’s a reflection of life, emotions, and culture. He hopes future generations will treasure and preserve the artistry within lyrics and songs.

Arun Tiwari is a celebrated Nepali lyricist best known for penning timeless and emotionally charged songs that have touched millions. His lyrics—rich in human psychology, deep emotion, and poetic insight—reflect the bittersweet truths of life, love, and solitude. A prime example is his iconic song, "Janminda Eklai, Marda Ni Eklai", sung by Karna Das. The song became a cultural phenomenon and a defining moment in both their careers. Early Life & Inspiration Born on September 21 in Kathmandu, Arun was raised by his late parents Sudhanidhi Tiwari and Lalita Tiwari. From a young age, he was drawn to literature and poetry. He began writing poems during his school years at Shaheed Smarak and Bijaya Smarak schools. Inspired by his uncle, the eminent poet Bhimnidhi Tiwari, Arun’s talent blossomed as he presented his work at various school and national events, often rewarded with notebooks and pens—a testament to his early recognition. Academic Journey Arun completed his higher education at Tri-Chandra Campus, later earning a degree in History from Tribhuvan University. Despite his academic path, it was poetry and songwriting that truly defined his life's purpose. Musical Career & Milestones His songwriting journey began in earnest in 2049 B.S. (1992 A.D.) with the song "Sapana Hainan Mera Najarma" during his college years. Encouraged by friends, he approached composer Tika Bhandari, and the song was later recorded at Music Nepal's Kalikasthan studio by singer Nagendra Shrestha, with a modest budget of NPR 4,000. However, it was his 2058 B.S. song "Janminda Eklai", written in just three minutes, that catapulted him to national fame. In 2059 B.S., Ranjana Cassette Center paid NPR 30,000 for the lyrics—an unprecedented amount at the time for a single song’s words, marking a milestone for lyricists in Nepal. Arun has since written over 1,000 songs, with more than 400 composed and recorded. His work spans themes of heartbreak, romance, reflection, and societal truths. He shares a fond memory of Prakash Sayami, who once gifted him a wrapped book—“Mera Kuch Saaman” by Gulzar—saying, “You have the flavor of Gulzar. This book is for you.” Arun still treasures that book as a symbol of mentorship and recognition. Legacy Arun Tiwari’s journey from a school poet to one of Nepal’s most respected lyricists is a testament to passion, perseverance, and artistic integrity. Kali Prasad Rijal is a celebrated Nepali lyricist and poet. His works are deeply admired for their poetic essence and emotional depth. Some of his classic songs, such as Kehi Mitho Baat Gara, Aankha Chopi Narou Bhani, and Jhareko Paat Jhai, were performed and composed by the legendary Narayan Gopal. Recently, Rijal collaborated with musician Aavaas for the Paleti music series, where Aavaas presented compositions and vocals for Rijal's new lyrics. Additionally, Rijal launched his new book, Kehi Mitho Baat Gara, which features 20 poems and 68 songs, along with staff notations for 10 of his songs to assist musicians. Rijal's contributions to Nepali music and literature have earned him numerous accolades, including awards from the Nepal Academy. His work continues to inspire and resonate with audiences across generations.
