Sushila Kansakar is a revered Nepali singer whose graceful voice left a lasting mark on modern and Newari music. Born to Nil Ratna and Harsha Devi Kansakar, she gained early fame through Radio Nepal’s anniversary program in 2018 BS (1961 AD), where she won a gold medal presented by King Mahendra. With a voice both powerful and tender, she recorded memorable songs like “Malai Marnu Na Bachnu Banayo Piratile”. Although her recorded output was limited, her influence endures through timeless broadcasts and cultural tributes. Kansakar balanced her artistic passion with academic excellence, earning a Master’s in Economics and serving in the Nepal Government, where she rose to Vice Secretary. After marriage, she withdrew from music, yet her legacy continues to resonate with fans and younger generations who celebrate her unique contribution to Nepal’s golden musical era.

Brata Gandarva, a renowned folk singer and Sarangi player, was born on 25th Poush, 2043 BS, in Jarayotar, Palpale, Bhojpur. She is the fourth daughter of Dambar Gandharba and Chija Maya Gandharba. Growing up in a large family with two brothers and six sisters, Brata's childhood was marked by a deep connection to music, especially Sarangi. Her father, a professional Sarangi player, and her mother, who also played the instrument, were her primary sources of inspiration. Though Brata was initially shy and quiet as a child, her love for Sarangi and singing gradually grew as she accompanied her mother around the village, performing and learning the traditional craft. The family's financial struggles further motivated Brata to continue the musical tradition, as it was both a means of sustenance and a way of life. Education and Musical Journey: Unlike many musicians, Brata didn’t receive formal schooling during her early years in the village. However, her connection with music was solidified when she met Gopal Siwakoti Chintan, a renowned figure who inspired her to pursue formal education and music training. Upon moving to Kathmandu, Brata joined Tri-Ratna Cooperative School, where she completed her S.L.C. and later went on to study at Lalit Kala Campus, earning her I.A. degree. She is currently in her B.A. 2nd year at the same institution. Her musical journey began under the mentorship of her parents, with her father being a significant influence on her playing technique. After moving to Kathmandu, she continued her training at Nepal Sangh Vidhalaya, under the guidance of Shyam Nepali, and started recording her songs in Music Nepal around 2053 BS. Brata’s contributions to folk music extend beyond her own performances; she is also a dedicated teacher, sharing her knowledge of Sarangi with students six days a week at various institutions.

Jalu Gurung is a Nepali singer and dancer known for her contributions to Nepali folk music and stage performances. Through her involvement in cultural programs, folk music recordings, and live stage shows, she established herself as a versatile performer who skillfully combined singing and dancing.She has been associated with the Nepal Purba Prahari Kalakar Sangh (Nepal Ex-Police Artists Association), contributing to various cultural and musical activities organized by the institution. Over the years, she has performed numerous folk and traditional songs, some of which are available on digital platforms including YouTube, helping preserve and promote Nepal's rich musical heritage.

Rudra Shekhar Sharma, known as RUDY, is a versatile singer who captivates audiences in various languages. Born in Jhapa, Nepal, to Bhumika Devi Upadhyay and Ganga Prasad Sharma, Sharma developed a passion for singing at a young age. Even during his school years, he actively participated in cultural activities. After his family moved to Kathmandu, Rudy's desire to become a singer grew stronger with the increased exposure to opportunities in the capital. While pursuing his education in Kathmandu, Sharma also took singing classes at several institutes. His penchant for modern songs and exceptional talent quickly earned him recognition in the music industry. Within a short period, Rudy established himself as a successful singer in the music scene. He found himself among the top singers of the time. Sharma's contribution to Nepali music was acknowledged when he received the 6th RAPATI MUSIC AWARD in 2074 BS for his exceptional singing skills. Despite the presence of other renowned singers at the peak of their careers, Sharma also made a mark among them. He has actively contributed to the Nepali music industry for over twelve years, delivering melodious tunes that resonate with listeners. In 2074 BS, Sharma released his debut album "RUPAM" which garnered significant attention in the Nepali music market. The album, consisting of five songs, received widespread acclaim and became a topic of discussion in the music circles. For the first time, Sharma found himself featured in an album, presenting him with a golden opportunity. Even amidst the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharma released songs like "Devadut Haau Timi," specially dedicated to doctors and medical professionals, contributing to the cause while pursuing his musical endeavors. His other songs, such as "Maya Mari, Maile Cheke Daura ra Surwal, Timi Bhanchhau Jun Ramro, Dukhdina Ma, Kina, Tadpiyera Kati Bachnu, Barshau Bityo, Sital Tapnu, Kahile Aanshuma, Jeena Abhi Baaki Hain (Hindi)" garnered significant attention for both their artistic merit and social relevance.
