Sunil Bardewa was a gifted Nepali pop singer, songwriter, arranger, and guitarist. Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 1972, he gained recognition for his exceptional guitar skills and heartfelt melodies. Bardewa was part of the band "The Matrix," which won the Sajan Smriti Pop Song Contest in 1995. His popular songs, such as "Goreto Ani Ustai Cha Galli" and "Bihani Ma," remain cherished by fans of Nepali music. Tragically, Bardewa passed away at the age of 44 on September 13, 2016. Kumar Kanchha is a legendary Nepali playback singer, composer, and actor, known for his soulful voice and contributions to both music and cinema. Born on 28th Mangsir 2014 B.S. in Kolkata, India, he rose to fame with timeless hits like “Jindagi Ko Ke Bhara Cha Ra,” “Amaile Bhanthin,” and “Batasale Udai Lyayo.” His album Goreto and songs like “Naina Resham” remain Nepali folk-pop classics. In addition to his musical legacy, Kumar Kanchha also made a mark as an actor. He appeared in the iconic film Saino (directed by Ugyen Chopel), where his song “Kalko Pani Rakshi Ganayo” became a cultural phenomenon. He also acted in films like Lahure and Koshili, contributing both as a performer and playback singer. Kumar Kanchha’s dual legacy in music and film has made him one of the most cherished and versatile artists in the history of Nepali entertainment.

Mallika Karki is one of the famous singers of the country. Originally from a remote village in Morang, she made this far despite a limited opportunity. She has done duet with several national and international artist including Udit Narayan Jha, Kumar Sanu, Ramkrishna Dhakal and Kumar Kancha. She started her singing career in 2064 BS with the duo song with Udit Narayan Jha titled ‘Laaj ko Lali’. She is known for her hits like ‘Yeti Dherai Manche Haru Ko Bhid Maa’, ‘Timile Nasamjhida Maya’, Aakhai Ma Rakhu Ki’ and ‘Kasari Kasari Aayou’. Her melodious voice entitled her to prestigious awards like Kalika Music Award, Sagarmatha Music Award, Music Khabar Music Award and Bindabasini Music Award.
