Mira Rana (also known as Meera Rana) is a renowned Nepali singer who has made significant contributions to the Nepali music industry. Born on September 24, 1951, she has sung over 1,600 songs in her 55-year musical career. Mira Rana is considered a part of "Nepal's first wave of recording stars," recording folk, classical, and even pop songs during the country's modernization after the fall of the Rana regime. She has collaborated with artists like Narayan Gopal, Gopal Yonjan, Kumar Basnet, Udit Narayan Jha, and Ram Thapa. In addition to her musical career, Mira Rana has also been involved in politics. She joined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal in 2009 and contested for parliament from the Kathmandu-3 constituency in 2013. She was awarded the Narayan Gopal memorial prize in 2016, shared with Gyanu Rana, in recognition of her contribution to Nepali music.

ika Sanu is a popular Nepali singer known for her captivating performances in Dohori songs. Dohori is a traditional form of musical debate where two singers, usually a man and a woman, sing in a call-and-response style, often engaging in playful banter. Tika Sanu has participated in numerous live Dohori performances and has collaborated with various artists. Some of her notable performances include duets with Nabin Dhungel, Raju Pariyar, Asmita Dallakoti, and Prasanna Pathak. Sushila Kansakar is a revered Nepali singer whose graceful voice left a lasting mark on modern and Newari music. Born to Nil Ratna and Harsha Devi Kansakar, she gained early fame through Radio Nepal’s anniversary program in 2018 BS (1961 AD), where she won a gold medal presented by King Mahendra. With a voice both powerful and tender, she recorded memorable songs like “Malai Marnu Na Bachnu Banayo Piratile”. Although her recorded output was limited, her influence endures through timeless broadcasts and cultural tributes. Kansakar balanced her artistic passion with academic excellence, earning a Master’s in Economics and serving in the Nepal Government, where she rose to Vice Secretary. After marriage, she withdrew from music, yet her legacy continues to resonate with fans and younger generations who celebrate her unique contribution to Nepal’s golden musical era.
